I’m sorry it has taken me so long to add anything about two more recent mystery series here. I suppose it’s partly because I didn’t really know they’d be series until I had at least 2 books for them. It’s often nice to write more than one book about the same characters in the same setting, though I do like to branch out from time to time.
The Max Falconer mysteries sprang originally from a short story I wrote for a competition about a museum curator who was unexpectedly drafted on to a government project to create a Museum of Trees. This eventually grew into a whole novel, and (also eventually) there were more books about the same curator, Max Falconer. At the time of writing there are 4 in the series: Life and Death in the Woods, The Case of the Late Capybara, Death of a Delegate and Rights and Wrongs.
Pamela Prendergast also starred in a short story before having a whole novel to herself. In this case the short story still exists somewhere, while I’ve written two novels about her too. She is a commercial artist and art teacher, which I think provides some interesting background possibilities. Her two novels are Pamela Prendergast and the Fatal Accident, and The Watcher in the Shrubbery.
