The badge I’m about to copy in below demonstrates that I’ve ‘completed’ my Camp NaNoWriMo novel ‘Frozen in Crime’. Don’t get too excited – I haven’t actually written ‘The End’ yet and also there will be a few months of editing before it can be released into the wild, but the basis of the first draft is now there sitting on my computer.
The reason I’ve validated my word count, now just over 50,000 words, on the Camp NaNoWriMo website at this point is that I am going away from home for a week and I am not sure how many opportunities there will be to use the internet while I’m away. This is actually the least of my worries so naturally I have dealt with it first while leaving the sorting out of the train tickets, booking of taxis etc until later. There are two of us travelling on separate days for the first part of the trip, which makes things a bit more complicated. I am slightly concerned about leaving a male person to get on the train on his own but with luck he will cope all right!
