About

Cecilia Peartree is the pen name of a writer who lives in Edinburgh. Her home is in a leafy suburb, she writes in the conservatory and is managed by cats. She has been writing stories since she was 6 years old. As a teenager, she was lucky enough to have a built-in cupboard in her bedroom which was full of unfinished stories.  It took some time for her to learn to finish things she had started, and even longer for the self-publishing revolution to happen so that she could publish them.

In real life (under another name) Cecilia Peartree is a database manager in a cultural organisation after an earlier career as a computer programmer. She serves on a local committee which continues to provide some of the inspiration for the Pitkirtly Mystery series.

  1. I just wanted to drop a note to say how much I am enjoying your Pitkirtly mysteries and the cast of characters. I’ve just downloaded your free books, which should then bring me right up to date.
I hope you continue this series as I find them very cosy, humourous, and a good mystery to boot.
Thank you for sharing your gems!

    1. Hi Sandra,
Thanks so much for getting in touch and saying such nice things. I’ve just written another one in the series and I’m working on another short story too. It’s nice to know there are readers out there!
      best wishes,
      Sheila/Cecilia

      1. I have a question about your book I believe I should not post in public. Could you send me an email so I can ask away?
